Yalla Yalla Group is proud to announce the successful completion of a comprehensive training program for 123 farmer promoters operating across various irrigation schemes in the Southern Province of Rwanda. This initiative covered four districts: Nyamagabe, Nyaruguru, Nyamasheke, and Rusizi. These farmer promoters, now equipped with advanced knowledge and skills, are set to make a substantial impact on their communities by transforming local agriculture and ensuring sustainable food security.
The training, designed to address the critical needs of smallholder farmers, focused on multiple facets of agricultural development. Participants received in-depth instruction on crop production, value chain management, irrigation techniques, water resource management, and the effective administration of cooperatives and water users’ organizations. This holistic approach aimed to empower farmers with the knowledge they need to increase productivity, enhance the quality of their produce, and efficiently manage their resources.
The impact of this training is expected to be far-reaching. Firstly, the 123 farmer promoters will serve as local experts, transferring their newly acquired knowledge to thousands of smallholder farmers in their respective districts.
